MedTagger.Com Overview

Medtagger.com is where social networking and search technology meet to provide trusted, relevant information to the global diabetes community.

Medtagger.com is a high powered search engine that gathers input from its membership community to determine which documents are considered valuable.

Medtagger.com is very different from the popular internet search engines that are out there.

This difference is best illustrated though an example.

If you enter the search keywords "diabetes", into one of the popular search engines, you get over 70 million search results from thousands of websites.

The problem with this is that users have no way of telling which of these returned documents contain reliable information.

Medtagger.com starts with an index of only a limited set of reputable websites and content that has been individually tagged by community members. In addition to this, documents with high popularity index are ranked higher in the search results.

Functions and Features

The landing page of Medtagger.com has four tabbed pages.
  • The "What's hot" tab shows content that is actively being tagged by users or new additions to the search index.

This home page can be directly accessed by entering www.medtagger.com/. e.g. The home page of staff2 is www.medtagge.com/staff2

  • Finally, the "Tagger like me" tab shows search results for documents tagged by other members with similar profile as you. Diabetes educators can see what other diabetes educators are tagging.
